Fue construido bajo la dirección de un indio manco y formaba parte del convento de los jesuitas. Data de 1675. Mientras se efectuaban las transformaciones de la Catedral, entre los años 1855 y 1866, éste fungió como tal. Su estilo original es barroco, pero sus interiores se reformaron cambiando su estilo al neoclásico.

This church was built under the supervision of a one-armed native and was part of the Jesuit convent. It dates back to 1675.  During 1855 and through 1866, while the city Cathedral was being restored, this temple acted as such.  Its original baroque style was transformed in its inside, changing it to neoclassic.
